| Before
you book a trip, do a little homework. Make sure
that you understand what you want your trip to be.
This is critical, because until you know what you
want, you won't be able to find it with us or
anyone else.
Be sure to compare trips on quality and service
offered, not just the price. Ask the questions
which will save you grief. Ask what is included in
this trip and more important what is not.
- Do they have 1:1 guiding or 1:2 ??? We use 1:1
for most hunts and offer both for fishing.
- How far from the camp do you have to go to fish???
150 feet here.
- Will the guide fish when you want to go??? Ours
do.
- Do they charge extra fees for Trophys??? We don't.
- What about meat cutting and packaging for
travel??? Yes, again here and we do it right. The
way the airlines want it done. This service is performed by an independant butcher and we arrange this service for you at cost. We will be happy to provide you with an estimate on the normal charges for this service.
- In fishing
packages, do they charge a whole days
rate when you come in for a part week and arrive
in the afternoon ??? We use a 24 hrs.= 1 day
charge system, noon Monday to noon Tuesday = one
day not two.
- Do they have a full time chef ???
- Are they licensed
???
- Do they carry insurance???
- Do they provide transfers to/from camp to Airport
or town???
- Do they let you come in a day early or stay an
extra night when they have space available ???
- In our case, Yes, to all these questions.
Many times we have "lost sales" on
price, only to be told later that when the dust
settled, we were in fact offering a better value
because we included things others did not. Things
like rain suits and fishing gear. We try to
anticipate your needs not nickle and dime you to
death.
Fish & Game are other things which should
count heavily in you decision making, but watch
for the traps. By engaging the services of an
outfitter, you are in fact buying time and
expertise in an area unknown to you. The operator
should make all reasonable preparations so that
you will be successful on your trip. This does not
include promising you "guaranteed" fish
and game or promising you fish or antlers of a
given size. No one should ever do this and no one
should believe anyone who does it. Folks like that
will probably "guarantee" it won't rain
too, just to get your business.
We have our share of success with the fish and
game by using old fashioned hard work,
professional skills and a bit of luck. We will do
our best for you because we want you to come back.

| Booking a
trip involves making a commitment on the part of
both the client and the operator. This commitment
on our part assures you that we have reserved both
the time and the space at our lodge for your
requested activity. Since this time and space are
for all intents and purposes now yours, it is
customary in our industry that a booking be
accompanied by a deposit. This assures us that you
are serious about coming and allows us to make the
necessary preparations for your visit. |
| |
| This
can be a problem, but we feel it is OUR problem
too, yours and ours. We will work with you to sort
it out. We want you to come to visit and when you
can't make it for good and valid reasons, we have
always co-operated to the extent possible to
rearrange our schedules and book you at another
time. We do this for people who find themselves in
a problem for reasons beyond their control.
Changing your mind doesn't exactly qualify and we
must reserve the right to make some judgements in
this area. Since most other places do not allow
any flexibility at all, (ie. if you don't show up
your deposit is gone), most people feel we are
being extremely fair about this. If you are
uncomfortable with our policy, we suggest you
purchase trip cancellation insurance, that way
neither one of us will be stuck if you don't make
the trip. We have trip cancellation insurance available at time of booking, ask for details. We will be happy to assist you. |
| If
you have a question, e-mail
us. |
There
are still several "good weeks" open for
both Fishing and Hunting in 2005. Our repeat client tend to book before they leave
or certainly by year end for the next season.
